Dr. Watson Munyanyi is a distinguished lecturer in the Department of Banking and Finance at Great Zimbabwe University, with a PhD in Business Management from the University of Johannesburg, an MBA from Midlands State University, and a Bachelor of Business Studies (Honours) from the University of Zimbabwe. He has over a decade of academic experience and has taught modules such as Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, and Financial Entrepreneurship. Dr. Munyanyi has also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Johannesburg and worked as a Revenue Specialist at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority.
Dr. Munyanyi's research focuses on financial inclusion, entrepreneurial performance, and the impact of technological capabilities on small and medium enterprises. He has numerous publications in reputable journals and has presented his work at several international conferences, earning recognition such as the Best Paper (First Runner Up) Award at the 2019 International Business Conference. In addition to his academic roles, he is a freelance corporate trainer and assessor, influencing the finance and business sectors in Zimbabwe and beyond. Dr. Munyanyi is multilingual, speaking English, Shona, Ndebele, Venda, and Sotho, and is committed to advancing economic development through education and research.
